Rocco and Dexter are big boys now and they sleep in their own beds. Momma misses their snuggling (and their warm little bodies). The first night was AWFUL, I am surprised the neighbors didn't bang on our door- Rocco barked for an hour and a half until 9:30ish then up again for another 45mins or so of marking around midnight...admittedly we probably approached the first night wrong....
So today it was off to Pawsmopolitan for some new snuggly stuffed animals for bedtime. Rocco got a platapus and Dexter a hedgehog (both with removable and replacable egg squeakers). They really loved these stuffed animals at the store and only get them special at bedtime. We also picked up some all-new treats they are organic freeze-dried meatballs flavored like chicken parmasean- again they each get one when they are tucked into bed.
Night two went off PERFECTLY, Mom is so proud of her big boys! Boys each got a nice blankie (Rocco took Mom's favorite blankie made for the family at Christmas by Grammy-but it is Rocco's favorite too!), a treat and a stuffed animal and into their beds they went. Mom laid with them until they fell asleep which seemed to help Rocco as he only whimpered and whined for about 5mins before they were both snoring.
Hopefully this crate training will each give them their own "den" a comfort zone and some space of their own. Also, it will teach them the bed is a privledge, not a right. Finally, be sleeping side-by-side together we are hoping it will also have the added bonus of helping the boys develop a good bond together. Will post pictures tomorrow of their bed routine
~Good nite~
p.s. Rocco says to tell Grammy she will be surprised at what a good boy he is next time he comes for a sleepover

Valentine's Day
The boys got yummy cookies shaped as hearts and "Xs" and "Os" for Valentine's Day from the Pawsmopolitan bakery (topped with yogurt frosting!)...meanwhile Mom and Dad had a good day filled with yummies in the form of lobsters, twice baked potatoes, fresh italian bread and stuffed quahogs. And Mom was really happy to put the gift certificate from Dad to good use on a new haircut! Then off we went (sans the boys) for some drinks and dancing at McFadden's in Providence, RI.
