Dexter's Mom and Me Day

Off to UMass Boston to pick up cap, gown, graduation invitation and tickets. Since we were in Boston, we, Dex and Mom, went to visit Grampy at his job site and grab some lunch. Dexter liked being at the job site, checking out the city, and saying "Hi!" to Mr. Govey and his son, Chris. Back home in the afternoon, the boys played fetch with their toy duck in the yard and enjoyed a frozen treat made of water, broth, pumpkin and a toy frozen inside too.
Are we there yet?

Where did the weekend go??

Back to work tomorrow, as usual the weekend went by much to quickly...
SATURDAY:
Planted lots of seeds on the patio deck on Saturday-peas and green beans, tomatoes, hot peppers, lots of herbs (a couple of basils, chives, parsley, thyme, oregano, rosemary, lavender, etc), a pot of butterfly attracting flowers, moonflower and morning glory, poppies, and a strawberry pot. So far, not a lot has had time to sprout- just the peas, a little chives, something that I'm not sure what it is, it may be a weed, and what's clinging on from the strawberry runners I got from a freecycler last season. The boys enjoyed a trip for goodies to Pawsmopolitan and the sunshine made us all tired so everyone took a nap before heading to the local farmstand for some homemade ice cream.
SUNDAY:
We all mellowed out for the earlier part of the day. Added a few new black and white prints to the collage in the boys' room (guest room). Joey went to Boston with some friends to watch the Sox and Celts. Mom and the boys went for a walk, had some grilled balsamic salmon and organic mac n cheese for dinner. I also tried my hand at baking some cookies for the boys with honey, organic peanut butter, a pinch of cinnamon, a little pumpkin and blueberries.
Should be having a third (final) interview with Waste Management this week, please send any prayers you can spare for this great opportunity being made a reality.

Waiting to see what develops here...I think it is the bee balm seeds I scattered at the end of last season...only time will tell
