There isn't much you can do today for $10, there's even less you can do for $10 with your dog so when I found out our training facility offers a drop-in (e.g. anyone can come at any time as often as you'd like) Rally-O class we had to check it out!

Surprise of the evening: Rally-O was too slow a pace for Rocco, he wasn't really interested, but Dexter LOVED it and the instructor said he shows real potential. Rally-O is definetly a challenge for the handler too, but once Dexter gets his obedience down it is something competitively we will pursue for him.

The class was mentally challenging for Rocco and he was tired when we got home (an added bonus to the fun of dog training)

Tomorrow is a BIG day- after training since January- Rocco will be officially starting Agility tomorrow. It is only the first step, but we are on our way to competition. Here is some really interesting information about our new agility trainer: Paulette Swartzendruber for competition agility are available. Don't miss out on this opportunity to train with a current champion - 2009 National Agility Champion! Some of her other accomplishments: 2008 Agility World Team Member, 2008 AKC Agility Invitational Championships top ten finalists, MACH II on Rush as well as numerous MACH titles on various breeds. "

Let's Get Animated!

Rocco and Dexter are on their way to being animated. The artist is so talented- she captured Dexter completely and Rocco is going to have a few adjustments and be perfect too! The animator's name is Lili and her work is amazing! I can't wait to see the finished product! Happy early Birthday to Joe- this animation is a gift to him for his 26th birthday as he loves comics. Part of the proceeds from Lili's amazing talent goes to benefit Boston Terrier Rescue. Note the incredible attention to detail: Dexter's collar, Rocco's Bolt tag, the white on the tips of Dexter's back feet and his freckled belly, Dexter's grin....all of it is just stunning!

Buried Treasure

The boys got a lot of yummy goodies from the Easter Bunny. Dex was wise, he recognized he couldn't eat them all in one sitting. While Rocco was gobbling up his treats, Dex was trotting around the house looking for the perfect place to stash his treats. He his a cow's ear in the corner of the bathroom, a bullstick in his Dad's closet, and a tube in the bed pillows. This video is when he tried to hide it on the couch, but when he saw he was exposed, he took it away and decided (cleverly) to hide it in plain sight, as Rocco always spends his day sleeping in Dexter's crate...Dexter hid his goodies where he knew his brother wouldn't find them- in Rocco's crate lol

Dexter is very particular in his method: 1) scout the area, 2) dig frantically in the furniture, 3) gently place goodies and tuck it in 4) push the imaginary "dirt" on top of said goodies with your muzzle
